Its a prestigious scheme for the students belong to economically backward community. SVMCM Scholarship 2024
Swami Vivekananda Merit-cum-Means Scholarship is a merit cum means scholarship that aimed at proving financial support to students through classes 11 to Ph.D level. This scheme started in 2006 is administered by the Government of West Bengal. Students who are permanent resident of West Bngal and pursuing courses like UG,PG, and professionals, are entitled to get this scholarship. To avail beenfits of the scholarship the family income of the student should be less than Rs 2.5 lakhs. Under this scheme, financial aid of Rs 1000 – Rs 8,000 will given to the students belonging to economically backward classes. However, the amount of the scholarship is directly credited into the account of selected scholars on an annual basis. For the academic year 2024, Application for the scholarship started from 12th July 2023.

Students fulfilling the eligibility criteria must submit the application form on SVMCM 4.0 Portal via @ svmcm.wbhed.gov.in. However, students belonging to minority communities will have to visit the Aikyashree portal to submit their applications. For the academic year 2024, applications are currently open on the SVMCM portal, the last date was August 09, 2024 but minority students must submit their applications by 30th September 2024 on Aikyashree Portal.

SVMCM Scholarship 2024 Eligibility
- Applicant’s Family income should be less than or equal to ₹2,50,000 per annum.
- Applicant’s permanent residents of West Bengal are eligible to apply.
- Students who have passed class 10 (in the academic year 2023-24), and studying in class 11 are eligible.
- Applicants must have secured at least 60% marks in 10th/12th examination.
- Girls students who got admission in post graduation after completing under graduation (with 45% marks), can apply for Kanyashree k3.
- Those availing of any other government scholarship are not eligible.
SVMCM Scholarship Amount
Under the Swami Vivekananda Merit-cum-Means Scholarship, selected students are given financial assistance of Rs 12,000 – Rs 96,000 per annum. The figure depends on the course that the student is currently studying. Below we have shown a list of how much students are paid according to their courses.

Students who wish to apply for Swami Vivekananda Merit-cum-Means Scholarship (SVMCM) for the academic year 2024-25 must possess the following documents.

Students applying for fresh application of Swami Vivekananda Merit-cum-Means Scholarship need to register (one time) on SVMCM portal. However, in case of renewal, the applicants have to login and then fill the renewal application.
SVMCM Scholarship Registration Process 2024
The following process is mandatory for those who are going to apply for SVMCM Scholarship for the first time, if you are already registered then skip the following steps.
- The first step is to visit https://svmcm.wbhed.gov.in portal.
- Now click on ‘How to Apply’.
- Accept the declaration and click on ‘Proceed for Registration’.
- Select the category according to your course and click on ‘Apply for New Application’.
- Enter eligibility test details, current course of study, basic details,
- Next, create your password and click on the ‘Register’ button.
- In the final step, enter the OTP and verify it.
Process to Fill out SVMCM Application Form
- To begin with visit https://svmcm.wbhed.gov.in.
- From the homepage, select the ‘Applicant Login’ option.
- Enter the Applicant ID, Password and Security Code carefully, then click on the ‘Login’ button.
- After successful login click on “Edit Application” from the dashboard.
- Upload your passport size photo and signature, and click on the Save and Continue button.
- Enter Personal Details, Permanent Address, etc.
- Enter the bank details, then click on the Save and Continue button.
- Upload the supporting documents and click on the Save and Continue button.
- Cross check all the information then click on ‘Submit Application’ button.

- Now, click on ‘Applicant Login’.
- Enter Application ID, Password to login.
- Next click on ‘Track Application’.

To recover your applicant ID or password, follow the steps mentioned below.
- The first step is to visit https://svmcm.wbhed.gov.in.
- Then click on ‘Applicant Login’.
- Select ‘Forgot Applicant ID/Password’ option.
- Choose what you want to recover and click on the ‘Proceed’ button.
- Select your Applicant Type, Mobile Number, Applicant ID (if you have forgotten your password) then click on ‘Proceed’.
