Swami Vivekananda Scholarship for Academic Excellence 2024 is an initiative introduced by Rajasthan government. Formerly known as the Rajiv Gandhi Scholarship for Academic Excellence, introduced for the students who are financially feeble and giving certain amount to them who are facing financial problem to continue studies. The government of Rajasthan has taken complete responsibility of Swami Vivekananda Scholarship for Academic Excellence scheme.

The important aspect of this Scholarship is it bears expenses like hostel fees, stationery, tuition fees, books, etc. based on the academic performance. If students meet the eligibility criteria they get up to 10 lakh scholarship amount. Following details help to understand the scheme and guide how to apply for Scholarship.

Swami Vivekananda Scholarship for Academic Excellence 2024

The Rajiv Gandhi Scholarship for Academic Excellence has been introduced in Rajasthan on 20th August 2021 to respect former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi. However, later in 2024, the name of the scholarship was renamed to Swami Vivekananda Scholarship for Academic Excellence.

Chief Minister of Rajasthan, Shri Ashok Gehlot has announced this scholarship to provide financial assistance to meritorious students who want to study in top foreign universities. 249 students have been benefitted under the scheme since its launch on 20th August 2021. But from the academic year 2023-24, a total of 500 scholars will be selected for this scholarship and 30% of the scholarship will be reserved for girl students.

The Scholarship is open to students who are residents of Rajasthan as well as enrolled in the top 150 QS World Universities. Online applications for the scholarship are currently closed and students will be able to apply for the scholarship until 15th January 2024.

Eligibility Criteria

The following are the eligibility criteria have to get Rajiv Gandhi Scholarship Scheme:

• The scholarship is open to students who are permanent resident of Rajasthan.
• Age of an applicant must be below 35 years as on July 1st of that year.
• Applicant must be from recognized university/board.
• Applicants must have been admitted or obtained an offer letter from one of the top 150 QS World Ranked Universities as of 1st April 2024.
• Annual income of an applicant must be one among the below-mentioned list.
  • E1 – below 8 lakh rupees
  • E2 – between 8 lakh to 25 lakh rupees
  • E3 – more than 25 lakh rupees
• All disciplines for Under-graduate, Post-graduate, Ph.D., and Post Doc courses are eligible. However, a maximum of 7.5 percent seats (37) are reserved for Engineering, Architecture, Medical, Dentistry courses at the Undergraduate level.

Benefits and Amount

Currently 500 seats are available for the financial year 2023-24. The benefits from this scholarship are outstanding. Different categories are made based on family’s annual income. According to these categories amount will be given.

Duration of Scholarship

• Post Doctoral research:- 1 year
• Master Degree:- 1 or 2 year
• Ph.D:- 3 year
• Graduate Degree:- Till the duration of the course

The scholarship allows Annual maintenance, Annual contingency, Travel costs, Medical Insurance Premium, Tuition fees, Visa Fee, also To and Fro Airfare.

Steps to Apply

To get the scholarship an applicant can follow the following steps. The following steps made easy to understand to apply for the Swami Vivekananda Scholarship for Academic Excellence 2024.

• Visit the official website https://hte.rajasthan.gov.in.
• Click on “Online Scholarship” option in the menu bar.
• Select “Swami Vivekananda Scholarship for Academic Excellence 2024”.
• Click on the “Register” button, and the registration form will appear on your screen.
• Select the appropriate citizen option from the mentioned options (Jan Aadhaar, Google id).
• Fill all the mandatory details as per your selection and complete the registration process using your registered email and mobile number.
• After that, log in to the portal using your credentials and search for the “Apply” and click on it.
• Fill all the details required in the application form.
• Upload required documents in .jpg or .png format, and make sure they meet the prescribed size requirements.
• Review all the information provided, then click on submit button.
• Save a hard copy/take printout of the filled application for future reference.

Important Date

The last date to apply for Swami Vivekananda Scholarship for for Academic Excellence for the academic year 2023-24 was January 15, 2024, however, the application for 2024-25 has not yet started.
