Types of UP Scholarship
The Uttar Pradesh scholarship program includes the following:
- Pre-Matric Scholarship Program [9th-10th can apply]

Eligibility Criteria to Apply for UP Scholarship 2024
There are some guidelines to apply for the UP Scholarship which only if fulfilled you will get the benefit of this scholarship. Which we mentioned below.
- Applicant must be a citizen of India also must be domicile of the UP.
- UP Pre-Matric Scholarship (for SC / ST / OBC / General) is applicable for students studying in Class 9 and 10.
- Post Matric Intermediate Scholarship (for SC / ST / OBC / General) is applicable for students studying in classes 11 and 12.
- Post Matric Other Than Intermediate is open to students pursuing UG / PG / Professional courses.
- Post Matric other states are only open to students who are residents of the state of UP but are studying outside the state.
- Students have secured 60% marks in the last passed exam.
- For the post-matric scholarship, applicant must have a yearly household income of Rs 1 lakh or less.
- For the Pre-Matric scholarship: the annual income should not exceed Rs 2.5 lakhs
General Category: Rupees twenty-five thousand five hundred forty-six [Rs.25, 546 students from Urban area] and nineteen thousand eight hundred eighty-four [Rs.19, 884 students from Rural area]

UP Scholarship Selection Process
The candidates will be selected by the concerned department based on candidate’s academic performance in the past examination and their economic status.

Process to Apply for UP Scholarship 2024-25
The eligible candidates can apply for UP scholarships, first they have to complete registration on official portal, scholarship.up.gov.in.
Step 1: Registration Process
- Visit UP Scholarship’s official website; www.scholarship.up.gov.in.
- Then, from the student drop-down menu, select registration.
- Then select Pre metric/Post metric/Intermediate (Fresh) option (according to your category).
- Now choose the district/institute/category and then enter the applicant’s name, mobile number, passing year, board name, roll number, etc.
- After that set a New Password; and click on Generate OTP.
- Type the OTP received on the registered mobile number, enter the captcha code displayed, and click on the Submit OTP and Proceed Registration button.
Step 2: login process
Once register candidates have to login to the portal and update their profile.
- For that go to official website of UP Scholarship.
- Navigate to the STUDENT section, then choose Fresh Login; enter Registration No. and password.
- An INSTRUCTION window will popup. Carefully read all the instruction manual and click on button labeled PROCEED.
Step 3: Steps to Fill UP Scholarship Application Form
- Once you logged in, you will be directed to the dashboard.
- Click on Application Form, and provide necessary details.
- Cross check details filled and click on button labeled SUBMIT.
Step 4: Upload Documents
For this step, applicants have to upload the required documents as mentioned above ‘Documents needed‘ section.
Aadhar Authentication
All the candidate gets 3 chances to verify their Aadhar card and 3 chances for OTP authentication.
- Fill the details like Name, Date of Birth, Aadhar card number, etc., and click Verify Aadhar button.
- After verifying the Aadhar card, click on OTP Authentication button.
- Now, Click on resend OTP button.
- The candidate must enter the OTP sent to their registered mobile number.
- Click on verify Aadhar by mobile OTP.
Form Review
Candidate must ensure that all the given details are accurate. Reviewing applications helps to edit details if required. After reviewing Click on SUBMIT button.
Print Application
Once submitted, Take print of application form for further use. The printed application must be submitted to the respective institution.
UP Scholarship Renewal
Applicants applying for scholarship for 2nd time will have to complete renewal process. for AY 2024-25, renewal process for UP Scholarship is currently running. To renew your UP application follow the steps mentioned below.
- Visit the official website of scholarship.up.gov.in.
- Select STUDENT option and click on Renewal Login.
- Once the dashboard opens, click on Aadhaar Authentication; type your Aadhaar card number to perform Aadhaar demographic authentication.
- Then enter academic details (previous years), upload the documents.
- Cross check the details, click on button labeled submit.
How to Make Corrections in Form?
The candidate can make corrections of their online application form within the specified time. The candidate gets chance to correct their inaccurate application form and submit the corrected form online. As per the circular, the period of time allow to correct application form begins once the application process ends.
How to Proceed to Make Correction?
- Log in to the UP Scholarship official website for that visit scholarship.up.gov.in.
- Click on “STUDENT” and select category (from four options).
- Enter your registration number, date of birth, and password and Login.
- Enter the captcha and submit.
- Once you login check result thoroughly which is shown on the screen.
- Click on the “MODIFY APPLICATION AFTER INITIAL TEST” button.
- It will redirect to the application page.
- Make the required changes and submit the final corrected online application.
Note: Submit the corrected application to the INSTITUTION. The candidates are required to submit final hard copy of application form to the respective institution compulsorily.
UP Scholarship Payment Status Check 2024
Remittance of scholarship amount to students has started from December 28. To check UP Scholarship status online one can download the UMANG application from android mobile.
- Open play store all then download and install UMANG app.
- Chose your preferred language and complete the registration process.
- After that enter your mobile number and MPIN and login.
- Next Search for PFMS and select ‘Know your Payment Status’.
- Enter the details and click on button labeled submit.
- On the following page you will see details of payment such as a/c no, a/c holder name, Amount, Failure reason (if any) etc.
- Carefully look for UTR No. If UTR No. is mark as NA, means payment is still pending.
- If you see UTR No. is there which means the amount has been credited successfully.
Note: Every student applying for the scholarship should know that Aadhaar number should
be linked to the bank account.
UP Scholarship Check Status Process
Any Candidate, Fresher, or Renewal applicant can check their application status through the online portal SAKSHAM, छात्रवृत्ति एवं शुल्क प्रतिपूर्ति ऑनलाइन प्रणाली.
Required details: Candidates must have their Registration Number, password also Date of Birth details with them to check status of UP Scholarship. Following are the steps to check the application status of UP Scholarship.
- Go to https://scholarship.up.gov.in and click on UP Scholarship Status from the dropdown menu.
- Click on “STUDENT” and now select your category.
