Oasis Scholarship has been launched by the Backward Classes Welfare Department, Government of West Bengal, for students who are struggling financially and want to continue their education. Students studying in post-matriculation courses and belonging to SC / ST and OBC categories are eligible for benefits under this scheme.

Oasis Scholarship 2024

The Government of West Bengal implements the Oasis Scholarship to financially support students from the backward classes. This scholarship provides a monthly allowance of up to Rs 1200 to deserving and meritorious students. Students who are permanent residents of West Bengal and pursuing post-matriculation courses are eligible to apply for the scholarship. Eligible and interested students can apply for OASIS Scholarship through online mode only by visiting the official website, https://oasis.gov.in.

The online application for the Oasis Scholarship for the academic year 2023-24 has been opened on 24th July 2023 for which the application is currently underway and the last date will be announced soon.

Oasis Scholarship 2024 Status Check

After applying to Oasis Scholarship, students will have to check their application status from time to time. From the time of application to the disbursement of funds, the applications are verified at various stages such as institute, district, block level, etc. Therefore, by checking the application status, applicants can be sure at what stage their application has been verified or how long it will take to receive the money.

How to Apply for Oasis Scholarship 2024?

Online Application for Scholarship in Studies (Oasis) has been launched by the Government of West Bengal for Backward Class Students. Those who are willing to apply for the fresh application, can fill the Oasis Scholarship form by following the procedure below.

Oasis Scholarship Registration

If applying for a scholarship for the first time, complete the registration process on the OASIS portal.

• Go to https://oasis.gov.in portal.
• Select ‘Student Registration’ “from the home page.
• Choose district and tap on submit button.
• To verify the cast certificate, enter the certificate number, and date of issue, then tap on Submit.
• Enter your name (as per Aadhaar card), date of birth, Aadhaar number etc.
• Type the captcha code and tap on ‘Proceed’.
• Enter primary details (such as father’s name, sub-caste, course type).
• Enter the student’s class details (last class passed, year of passing).
• Type the contact details (such as family income, district, block, institute name and mobile number).
• Hit the submit button and print the acknowledgement slip.

Log in and Fill Oasis Scholarship Application Form

• Go to the Oasis Portal, or access the direct link below.
• Select ‘Registered Student Login. “
• Enter application ID / user ID, password, session and tap on login.
• After entering the dashboard, tap the 3-dot and proceed to the next step.
• Enter the other details (such as mother’s name, student’s marital status) and upload the income certificate.
• Enter supporter’s details (such as parent’s name, occupation, and address).
• Enter the Education Details (such as course, date of joining, end of session, course duration, and previous academic details) and tap on Submit.
• Provide identification and bank details.
• Cross-check the application form and then tap on ‘Verify and Lock Application’.
• Finally, print out the application form.

Note: After printing the application form, attach the necessary documents with it and submit the hard copy to your institute within 15 days.

Steps to Check Status Of Oasis Scholarship

Follow the steps given below to check the OASIS scholarship application status.

• First, go to https://oasis.gov.in/.
• Then select ‘Track an application’.
• Select the district correctly and click on the submit button.
• Now enter Application Serial No./User Id and Session.
• Type the captcha code then click on ‘Check Status’.
• Now you can check the application status on your screen.

Oasis Scholarship Amount

Under the Oasis scholarship, money is transferred to the student’s bank account in two installments. Out of the total amount, 40% is paid in the first installment and the remaining 60% is paid in the second installment.

Oasis Scholarship Eligibility Criteria 2024

To avail the benefits of the scholarship, applicants must be a permanent resident of West Bengal as well as fulfill the following eligibility criteria.

Eligibility Criteria for Pre Matric Scholarship

• Students must belong to SC / ST category.
• Students enrolled in 9th and 10th grade are eligible for the scholarship.
• The student’s family income must be less than or equal to ₹2 LPA.

Eligibility for Post Matric Scholarship

• Students must belong to SC or ST or OBC community.
• Students enrolled in postgraduate courses are eligible for the scholarship.
• The family income of SC / ST students should be less than or equal to ₹2.5 LPA.
• Students belonging to the OBC category, their family income should be less than ₹1 LPA.
